i’m ignoring the filters since they are leading to a million plot holes.. though i can see why they had to make all these fillers… they started making this anime 2 years earlier than they should have so the manga hasnt been given enough of a buffer..

I don’t think this is a “filler”, considering it’ll only be on 24 or 25 eps…
I think the Anime just went in another direction or something, and maybe one day we’ll have a remake of Ao no Exorcist that follows the manga(when it’s further ahead) kinda like they did with Fullmetal Alchemist (Remember Brotherhood )
This can also be conpared with the end of Soul Eater (hopefully this one end with a “punch of friendship” -.-”)

This anime is way better than the manga, it felt like the manga was going too slowly =A=
