First in response to Truth i have to say if you think bleach sucks ass, then dont watch it. there are people who do like the show so if you dont like it dont watch it. second to those who speak of who can become a captain and how… they stated very specifically that you can only become a captain by showing suffecient mastery of skills possessed by a soul reaper, so you can become a captain without having a bankai…. and if the only prerequisite was having a bankai then renji and Ikkaku Madarame would be forced to be captains cause they both have bankais
