Of course berry is weaker than kenpachi, remeber that berry HARDLY beat grimjaw which is no 6 and ken beat up nnoitra which is no 5, och course berrybeat up ken whithout bankai(but ken did not use Kendo either) but that was long time ago and ken trained hard to be stronger than berry. and remember that when berry was fighting this big guy he was at less than half of his powers after fighting ulqiora(ok i admit it was his hollow that beat up ulqiora not him buts steal it was berry who was beat up) so it’s not strange that he didn’t fight as great as kenpachi or byakuya

OKAY!~ For anyone wondering how Ichigo won in Soul Society, he was completely unaware of any of his powers until Yuroichi trained him in them, whenever he fought he got lucky and used skill he has no control over.

When he final attacked Ikkaku he increased so much in the swing it cut through Ikakku’s half-assed block and Ikkaku couldn’t stiffen up cause he cant gauge reitsu.

AND for the other shinigami he accidentally uses an ability that disintegrates the opponents zanpaktou, just watch the fights again and you will notice that they all are fine right up til the last attack and then after it Ichigo takes almost no damage and shoves a huge ass sword into their tummies and rips it out through their shoulder blade then tears it across their body, Its fully a 1 hit KO that dissolves any chance you would have of blocking since your sword disappears as he swings it at you

metoo to answer your question… ichigo IS more powerful than Capt Zaraki. It’s a fact. However, that’s not the only factor in a battle. Notice the way Zaraki fights. He has a more balanced fighting stance, whereas ichigo always leaves his stomach an open target. He’s clearly inexperienced in battle, and that works to his disadvantage many times throughout the series (he DID go to the seretei with only 10 days of training, 3 of which he spent in a hole trying to regain his powers as a shinigami)so despite ichigo’s power level being higher, and despite the fact that he beat Kenpachi, Kenpachi is a better fighter, so it’s no suprise he and Byakuya had no problem with Yammy yet. get it?

All of this because of 1 bad Soul Reaper. Was he punished or not? Saying something like, “so to remove the clouds, you’d become the largest cloud” might have brought him back.
