ok som1 explain to me what’s happening in the manga…..as i recall when rukia 1st came into the living world and gave Ichigo shinigami powers they were her powers not his….after Byakuya removed them ichigo went through the episodes with Urahara when he gained his own shinigami etc…..so after loosing his shinigami powers for ever in the Aizen battle…and the dudes from soul society donating some of their powers to make that sword and stick it in ichigo….ok now doesn’t ichigo have the captains shinigami power…i mean he has no moar shinigami power of his own left right?

or so what you are saying is that the captains just reinforced the reiatsu that was in the senkai tunnel, thus giving him his shinigami powers back?

@kutter Your wrong man. When Rukia stuck ichigo it gave him power but it awakened his own power as well. So the power hes using is his own and was always his own. He lost it with final getsuga tenshou. They stuck him to plant that riatsu back into him as more of a jump start. Like what u do to a car battery. They explained that his power is his and a part of his soul so he cant possibly lose it.

He did lose his spiritual pressure, but let's put it like this – he lost most of it, almost all, but that sword loaded with captains spiritual pressure re-awakens his powers. Same as in analogy, even a person who's been paralyzed can regain his movement if he works hard.

@everyone confused, instead of car analogies think of it in a physiological sense.
Ichigos final getsuga surgically removed his spiritual pressure factory from his body. the special sword filled with all the captains/etc pressure is more of like concentrated stem cells that rebuild the original state of ichigo.(apparently rebuild it better)

to put it simply they basically did exactly what was done for him at the start of the series like everybody has been saying. Thats why his zanpaktou still resembles zangetsu and doesnt look like some weird merging of everyone who put their reiatsu inside the blade. And the biggest hint to it being the same as the beginning of the series is the chapter he got it back was nicely entitled “Death and Strawberry 2″ as if to be the sequel to to the original chapter at the beginning of the manga.
