I think there are 7 real dragonslayers, which therefore means 7 dragons – all dissappearing on the same date – 7th of the 7th 777.
At a guess, I’d say the council play a big part in this and that the death of Lucy’s mother was planned… So, yeah. That was all just guesswork, though – so… no spoilers =D
P.S You know Fairy Tail was made by the same guys who made Rave Master?

dont worry, manga readers cant spoil anything about the dragons who teached the dragonslayers or anything related so far, since the manga isnt at that ark yet.
