I read that only half the chakra is sealed in Naruto in the manga, Chapter 370 Page 12. In the scene Jiraiya is having a conversation with the toad key guy. More specifically he says “Minato only sealed the Nine-Tails Yin Chakra using Shiki Fuujin”

Since he can only ultilise the yang chakra currently in the anime, it’d be long before the anime catches up to the current manga which shows him fighting the Nine-tails.
