Pain is stupid. He should’ve brought all Akatsuki members with him or let Tobi do the job. He became Naruto’s toy. Tobi could’ve defeated 9-Tails easily. He’s so lazy, he should’ve gone to capture 9 Tails himself. I like the fights but not really the story because no one really dies brutally. I hope it’s like Full Metal Alchemist which is more realistic when it comes to death.

To be honest, it was a so so episode. We all waited this episode and i dont think it filled my anticipation. Like most said, instead of being a really realistic awesome fight it was a childrish cartonnish fight. I am very disapointed by that. I dont mind them trying to do this style on an random episode but please dont do it on one of the most anticipated episode ever. That was one of the last episode of naruto i was going to watch, since i am not interested in the rest in the manga line.

creepy episode, but if you take a closer look you’ll see that the animations are far more detailed and realistic.
this kind of artwork appears in every episode with an epic fight which is major for the storyline. if u all still haven’t noticed yet -> watch the first fight between sasugay and naruto at the valley of the end from the first season. i kinda like this changes from time to time…

The whole reason for subordinates is so that THEY collect the tailed-beasts, and HE uses them. The reason the other 2 members aren’t helping is that Kisame is hunting for a different tailed beast, and Zetsu is with either Kisame or Tobi. And no shit there aren’t brutal fights in the show. Little kids watch this in Japan, it’s called censoring. You want brutal fights? Go read Bleach, or hey, start a fight in real life, see how it ends up.

that was the most lame and worst episode in a long time…not just because of the awful and cartoony artwork and the strange goof anmiations but also because it seems like the apprentice has written the episode…hopefully this is not the new standard or naruto just died for me…especially with a new season of black lagoon out…

Anyway, this episode was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. The quality is typical filler-style, with 98% of this fight not in the original manga, and most of it seems pretty ridiculous, considering it’s the freakin’ Kyuubi. I watched the opening, saw the first minute or so of the episode, and moved on to him going into 8-Tails.

@keita – the story does not make that much sense…why would they send pain alone, their strongest weapon…they knew that even for him this was hardly doable alone…they just wasted their stronges asset…akatsuki is pretty much dead anyway…the only thing they have left is madara…it would have been much more wise to send at least all current forces to the hidden leaf to help pain or to wait and collect first further akatsuki members…they could also dig out that priest…

this animation looks like the same animation during Narutos and Sasukes battle (Naruto: Episode 133).. the whole point is to emphasize the the fighting… the problem is that most of what happened in the fight never happened..

manga: Hinata jumps in front of pain.. Pain blasts her back once… Naruto goes insane.. Naruto releases six tails (with the bones) right from the start.. Naruto gathers the blue and red chakra balls.. Naruto then shoots that beam at Pain.. Pain runs away and eventually traps Naruto in that giant ball in the sky…

Everything else in that fight is filler because most of you would bitch if you didnt get to see Naruto fight with 6 tails… so all you whiny ass cry babies cry more about an episode filled mostly with filler..

I don’t like the artwork either and I’m disappointed with the way the fight turned out to be, because in the Manga it was really awsome, but the Anime with the extra scenery really destroyed the essence of the fight, it just looked too cheap, egg shaped faces and all.

Hell Yeah!…. one of the best matured episode there is…. kick ass fighting scene and the bloody hell deathmatch made me want to watch this episode over and over again….

I was anticipating this episode so much. They just had to screw it up. The 6 tails was as weaker than the 4 tails that fought Orochimaru. The only thing it has is speed. The animation was worst than anything I’ve seen. The worst part of it all is that they screwed up Pain’s face. At least they did a slightly better job at the ending part where Naruto almost release the Nine Tails.

A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT if this turns out to be a real Naruto Episode

Okai…. this is the same exact animator of sasuke vs naruto in VoTE (Valley of the End) but why did he copy that fight onto this one i mean…..sum things like – getting punched in the face by kyuubi naruto, Big ass wave of wind ( it was water in VoTE fight) after transformation from Kyuubis power, acrobatics from pein (sasuke), Fight suddenly being on water randomly, Pien skating on water avoiding Kyuubis hands, Fire balls being spit out by Kyuubi (Sasuke spit them out in VoTE fight), Fire balls being deflected by a Shield (Kyuubis Shield VoTE), Kyuubi Naruto looking at enemy in a cloud of smoke (Same exact way in VoTE).

then all of a sudden after the necklace scene it copies the moment Sasuke got his evolved sharingan with the pieces of wood being there (and on fire too!)

then Narutos arms shoot out while hes in super speed mood and Pain dodges and parries them (Sasuke just dodges), a Big circle of water envelops Pain when he does Tensei (Sasuke is enveloped by Narutos speed making the water do that)

and last even though this happens in the manga in Naruto vs Pein … Kyuubi gets a hit on Pain and sends him flying towards a rock (Sasuke get sent flying towards a rock by Kyuubis Hands) almost exact copy >.<

I guess I’m not the only one who noticed the weird animation this time. At some points it was very simplified and it felt like a kid did it. I wonder if they had problems or something. I mean this is an important episode, why would they purposely make it amateurish.

i believe naruto 167 used a different style of animation to better portray the nine tailed fox. this style is more like the naruto movies than the rest of the series.

it is also the same as the sasuke vs naruto fight. i do enjoy it for some pros. personally i prefer the older style sketch animation such as berserk or trigun.
but this is nice also. it has its only pros in the cleanliness of the animation. the art is really detailed.
i never really liked the nine when naruto got to for tails and six tails is very similar. but i did like the way thay made the eight tail like muscles.

The animation was absolutely horrid. I noticed it was getting crappy in the last episode. Whoever said the bad art style is to highlight the intense fighting must have been watching something else. The fighting in this episode is nearly as bad AS the art. Naruto did more kick ass moves as the 4 tails when he fought against Orochimaru. This episode, however… it’s like a ninja playground fight. Very disappointing.

I think the art is a bit worse now during the fights and stuff because the animators got much less time now to make it. Before They probably were a bit ahead, like working on ep 56 2-3 days before 55 got out. They lied ahead, but now they dont.
