They have to put in fillers, it would be weird if they just jumped half a year forward in time and you saw the leaf was rebuild, they have to show a bit of progress to the leaf once in a while and then something else.

I think it was great to find out how he came up with the giant rasengan, it’s important to have some background story.

That would also explain why Itachi fled in the first encounter(featured in the anime series) with Jiraiya. Though he may not have wanted to use much of his chakra, one would think that the Mangekyo Sharingan user could easily put Jiraiya under a genjutsu spell given that Jiraiya does not have any genjutsu in his arsenal. But atleast now we know hes got a good genjutsu defense.

This is WAY better than the bloody stupid Ostrich, Anteater shit!!!! Its like the mind behind that episode was mocking the loyalty of fans. I can imagine (two or more) idiots in the studio/office wagering on a bet to see what kind of stinky crap they can offer up to the audience. And then after the airing of the episode, I can see them laughing and high-fiving each other in amazement that they managed to pull it off.

lol, the person who has made these fillers have failed. Why is jiraya so freakin weak all of a sudden? If naruto could’ve beaten him that easily, Jiraya would have whipped him from behind. And all these fillers has fight scenes that lasts 5min and then they’re done. Not only are there short fight scenes, but there are weak fight scenes. It’s all the same. Naruto uses shadow clones and fails of course… then he or another person on his team uses a hidden boring jutsu. Also all fillers include random characters who has had a rough past then suddenly naruto comes from nowhere and changes that character totally with an epic fail quote.
