No offense @stfutroll but I honestly thought it wasn’t. If anything it probably showed the seriousness of the situation that him and everyone else in the game is facing. It is important for the plotline. If anything it kept you interested, right? Hey here is my question to everyone else what do you think happened to all the children that were stuck in the game? You remember the first episode when the gamemaster gives everyone mirrors and a little girl drops hers? I hate to sound grim but I think most of them died or is stuck in the first town. What do you think?

I love the anime. It’s really cool in fact i wish i were them besides the dying part and well you know what.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is all a simulation being run in their brains, and that the whole series actually will have lasted only, like 1hr in their real life time?

Aka, no one is actually dying… it’s all just a farce to make the game amazing.

Unfortunately, the simulation lasts far, far longer than 1 hour. Time in the game is equivalent to time in real life, same with the weather, the seasons, etc. Years in the game=years outside, and at least 6 months have passed since episode 1.

Oh yeah, and they are actually dying, on mass. Your brain gets frazzled as soon as you die and your cells become soup. Think about it, if they hadn’t actually died in real life, why wouldn’t they just pull the nerve gear off everyone’s heads?

how short is this anime gonna be, only 4 episodes and it seems like they are already 80% done with the game. wish there was some action or something, all its done is show him helping ppl that are 10000x weaker than himself. i get that its all part of the plot, but it shows nothing about the main characters progression through the game.

I don’t think it’s nearly done they just introduced red and orange players also i think it’s need to show him helping people, cos in the end there all gonna party up or something so i mean atm there just build the connection which is good.

the fact that you think there not main cahrecters is a lie, you have a switcher (the chick met in the 2nd episode) the guy you met in the first episode and now this girl who clearly will get powerful, also the 3rd episode was needed due to the fact it shows that you grow bonds and then if a person dies, there gone

these first few episodes are actually cannon, they are short stories that the author wrote to prequel the novels.

The anime is in chronological order unlike the light novels. Klein, Kirito, and Asuna, (I haven’t read it in awhile so i believe thats her name) are the most important. These characters are just anecdotes showing his growth until it starts along the main plot line, which should start maybe about episode 6 depending on what the director and light novelist want to attempt. Besides that more characters will be introduced that are key to the plot

kirito is the highest level in the entire arincard and theres only 1 guy higher his name is healthcliff of the knights of blood guild, asuna is the sub leader. healthcliff is actually the game creator and he has the unique ability call dual blade. Only the fastest reaction speed and fast agi boost will get this unique ability and kirito will get it. Asuna and kirito will get married and have a child name yui an ai (artifical intel) and 3 days later the game will be beaten by kirito when he discoverd on the 75th floor that healthcliff is the creator and he and healthcliff will dual 1v1 and if he win the game is over if not kirito dies. With his unique ability kirito will fight but asuna would come in between and die. Kirito would also die but due to a glitch he would kill healthcliff too and the game ends and kirito wakes up but asuna doesnt and then season 2 comes out where the reacreate the SAO server into a new game called ALO where kirito finds out that asuna is trapped inside as he arranged marraige fiance is holding her in place. Kirito will save her that is season 2. And season 3 is still ongoing
